Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens, 3 major US pharmacy chains, will have to pay $650 million dollars to 2 Ohio counties. The counties won a lawsuit that claimed the pharmacies distributed opioids to customers. US District Judge Dan Polster said that the money will be used to try and solve an ongoing opioid crisis in Lake and Trumbull counties, which are outside of Cleveland. Lake Country will receive $306 million over the course of 15 years, while Trumbull Country is scheduled to receive $344 million over 15 years as well.
