The US men’s basketball team lost its first game of the Olympics to France. It lost 83 – 76, making this its first basketball loss since 2004, when they lost to Argentina. This loss doesn’t mean the US is eliminated from getting a gold medal in basketball. The US should still be able to go to the knockout rounds that start later in the Olympics. The US has struggled player-wise, because some star NBA players declined the Olympic team, and some of its players arrived late because they participated in the NBA finals. Kevin Durant, a very good NBA player, only made 4 out of 12 shots, and he only got 10 points in total. On Wednesday, the US will play the Republic of Iran.
