My Experience At Camp

I’m going to do something different today. Last week, I went to an all-sports camp near my hometown of Havertown, Pennsylvania. I’m going to talk about my experience at the camp.

The first day, I played soccer. My team got to choose our country name, and we chose Italy. A win was worth 3 points, a loss was worth 1 point, and a draw was worth 2. Also, if you ran back to the white line on the field, you got an extra point. I thought it was fun.

The second day,  I played kickball. Kickball is like baseball except you use your feet. I was ok at it. I wasn’t as good on offense as I was on defense, though. We also played flag football. I made a pretty good receiver! I had a blast.

The third day, I played cricket. Cricket is also like baseball, but it’s mostly played in England. We played something called “quick cricket.”  This is a game like cricket, but it is a much faster version of the game. It was interesting because instead of running from base to base, you run to the back of the line and give your teammate the bat. In baseball, if you do that, you’re out.

The fourth day, I played badminton. Badminton is a lot like tennis, except instead of a ball, you use something called a birdie or a shuttlecock. We played as a team of 3. At the end, the counselors said it would be kids against counselors. I personally didn’t like Badminton because it was kind of slow, but that’s just my opinion.

The fifth and last day, we played soccer and basketball. In soccer, each team again got to choose a country to represent  and we chose England. In-between games, the counselors would askus soccer trivia questions. We went to the gym to play basketball for the last 90 minutes of the day. It was lots of fun.

I personally enjoyed my time at the camp. It was fun. I would highly recommend it.
