Greece is being hit by major wildfires. These fires have been going on for over a week, and they don’t look like they will stop anytime soon. Currently, there are three huge fires raging across the country, and the biggest fire is on the second biggest island in Greece, Evia. Thousands of people have already evacuated, and many more people are still waiting for ferries to evacuate. This fire is destroying homes, businesses, and forests. These fires are so hot and intense, that water from fire hoses and aircraft was evaporating before even reaching the fire. Countries including France, Spain, Israel, Romania, and the US have sent aid for fighting the fires. The fires caused a heatwave for several days.
