The world wants minerals like iron, gold, and copper from Afghanistan. But, since the Taliban is in control now, it is hard for the countries to get the minerals. There are also huge untouched Lithium deposits in Afghanistan, and Lithium is a major component in making more “green” technologies that don’t hurt the environment. The minerals were discovered to be in Afghanistan in 2010, but the government didn’t have the resources to mine the minerals. The Taliban will also be unlikely to be able to mine the minerals. Even though most countries in the world don’t support the Taliban, China, Russia, and Pakistan are willing to trade with the Taliban to get the minerals.
