Hurricane Ida, a very strong hurricane, hit Louisiana. It left over a million people without electricity in New Orleans, Hurricane Ida is a category 4 storm, as it had winds of over 230 kph. The hurricane didn’t just take out power though – it blew roofs off buildings, and it even made the Mississippi river flow a different direction. When it was at south-western Mississippi, it weakened, but it is still very powerful. Hurricane Ida may even be the 5th strongest hurricane to have ever hit the US. Many people were warned to evacuate, but it was difficult for people to evacuate, because highways were jam-packed.
