Jeff Bezos, the second richest man on the planet and the founder of Amazon, has announced that he will donate $100 million to the Obama foundation. Barack Obama was the 44th president of the US from 2008 – 2016. He was the first black person to take office. The Obama foundation is currently building a big $500 million presidential center in Chicago. Bezos has also asked Obama to rename his presidential center in honor of John R. Lewis. This is the Obama foundation’s biggest donation ever from one person. Even though $100 million seems like a lot – and it is – it is less than 0.1% of Bezos’ net worth. Some other big donors to the foundations are Mackenzie Scott (Bezos’ former wife) and Bill and Melinda Gates.
