Items bought from Family Dollar stores across 6 different states may be contaminated and unsafe to use, according to an alert issued by the US FDA. All kinds of items including dietary supplements to medication to cosmetics to pet foods may have been exposed to unsafe and unsanitary conditions in a Family Dollar facility in Memphis, Arkansas. The FDA inspected the facility, and found out that there was a rodent infestation in the facility. After the inspection, Family Dollar issued a voluntary recall of items sold after Jan 1st, 2021. Items were recalled from hundreds of stores across Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Rodents can spread Salmonella, a disease that is sometimes fatal to humans. Family Dollar is owned by Dollar Tree, a very popular company, which sells cheaper items.
