The online retail giant Amazon will close some of its physical stores. All 68 of its Amazon Books, Amazon 4-Star, and Amazon Pop Up stores across the US and UK will be closing. Amazon opened its first bookstore in 2015, and now has 24 of these stores across the country. These all will close down now. Amazon 4-Star stores sold products with a 4 star or higher rating on the website, along with Amazon’s own products, like Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV devices. Amazon Pop Up stores sold products with different themes, and this month for example was Brother themed, a machine company. Amazon’s physical stores were never as popular as its website, so this makes sense. Amazon will still keep its Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods grocery stores, and their Amazon Go stores. The exact date of the closing is not confirmed.
