The giant chipmaker Intel has committed $36 billion to boost chipmaking across the EU (European Union). The type of chips Intel makes are not the chips you eat regularly, but they are computer chips. They help a computer run properly. The company will make two factories in Germany, and these factories will use the most advanced chip manufacturing technology there is. The construction of these 2 factories will begin in 2023, and will end in 2027, if there are no issues. It will also make a new R&D and design hub in France.
