“Forever chemicals”, a type of chemical, was found in certain fast food wrappers from some popular fast food chains. These chemicals have their name because they are human-made, and they can’t break down naturally in the environment. Most wrappers have these chemicals, but the wrappers for some products from Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Arby’s, and more were found to have excessive amounts. It is feasible for retailers to use packaging with less of this chemical, so companies can start changing their packaging. The samples of this test were collected between August and November of last year, so it is possible companies could have changed their packaging by now. This chemical is known to negatively affect someone’s immune system and their response to diseases.
