Royal Caribbean’s The Harmony of the Seas cruise ship crashed into a pier in Jamaica. The ship was 1,188 feet long, and passengers aboard the ship could be heard screaming. This happened at about 7 am. A lot of the port was damaged by the ship in the collision, and an investigation is underway. There were no injuries, but the ship did take damage. The ship was apparently able to continue the trip without issue, according to the operator. The tourism minister in Jamaica said the port would just need a few repairs, and would be operational this week. The harbor pilot has been blamed for the error, and the captain of the ship was allegedly misdirected by the harbor pilot.
