Last night, Google Services were not working for a little while. Google did fix the issues, but there are some reports that the outages were caused by an electrical incident at a Iowa data center. It left 3 electricians critically injured. Google however blamed the disruptions on a software update. The Google outages were first reported around 9:00 EST. The reports quickly rose to over 40,000 in less than an hour. The reports started going away around 2 hours later. The outages did mainly affect US users, but some users in Taiwan and Japan were also affected.
