Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was voted by his peers as the No. 1 player on the NFL’s Top 100 list for 2022. This is his 4th time as the top player since 2011. Brady took to Twitter to say, “This is just a testament to the family, teammates, coaches, staff and every single one of you who’ve supported me along the way. Thank you all. Let’s go get another one.”
I understand why they gave the award to Brady, but I don’t think he deserved it. I think that there were other players who had better seasons than him. I would’ve been okay with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or even Aaron Rodgers getting the award. I’m not saying Brady didn’t have a good season, but it wasn’t worthy of No. 1.
Los Angeles Rams fans seem to agree with me, with the Rams Twitter account tweeting, “YEAH SO HE’S RANKED NUMBER TWO IN THE NFL TOP 100 DESPITE MAKING TWO PLAYS THAT SEALED A TRIP TO THE SUPER BOWL AND TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL. NOT TO MENTION SINCE 2014 HE LEADS THE LEAGUE IN QB PRESSURES AND SACKS. I MEAN AN ABSOLUTE UNIT UNSTOPPABLE. HE’S THE GOAT.”, expressing their anger that Aaron Donald didn’t win No. 1. It’s understandable why they are angry, the Defensive Player of the Year had a monster 2021 season and playoffs. Will Brady follow up his incredible 2021 season? We’ll see.
