Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, is considering retirement. There are multiple reasons for this, and one of the biggest ones is the recent attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi. Nancy was in Washington DC when her husband was attacked, and he was attacked with a hammer at the couple’s home in San Francisco. Pelosi has led the Democratic Party in the House for almost 20 years, but with Republicans expected to win the majority of seats in the House, there is speculation that Pelosi could retire.
In her first major interview since the Oct. 28 attack, Pelosi would not confirm whether she’s made a decision on her potential retirement. But she told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that her “decision will be affected about what happened the last week or two.”
“Will your decision be impacted by the attack in any way?” Cooper asked.
“Yes,” Pelosi replied.
“It will?” Cooper reiterated.
“Yes,” Pelosi repeated.
