Elon Musk announced that he just ‘killed’ the new, gray verification marks. The marks were intended to identify prominent Twitter accounts, but just hours after the feature was released, Musk said that he ‘killed’ it. The marks were gray check marks, and they had the word “official” placed under the account. Musk tweeted this ““I just killed it,” and he added, “Please note that Twitter will do lots of dumb things in coming months. We will keep what works & change what doesn’t.” The confusion was made worse because accounts such as NASA, CNN, and the UN all were removed of their ‘official’ label. Musk has been met with widespread criticism a lot already.
