One of the world’s richest men, Jeff Bezos, has pledged to give most of his money away. He was asked in an interview whether or not he would donate most of his wealth, and he said he does. He said, “Yeah, I do. The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way. It’s not easy.” He added: “I’m finding that . . . philanthropy is not easy. It’s really hard. And there are a bunch of ways that you can do ineffective things, too. This announcement comes after Bezos chose Dolly Parton to win his Courage and Civility Award, which gives her $100 million to donate to charities of her choice.
