Thousands of stainless steel bottles and sippy cups have been recalled by the company Green Sprouts. The reason for this recall is that the base of the product can break, exposing a dot which contains lead. Lead is a very toxic substance, and it is potentially fatal if ingested by kids. No injuries were reported, which is a good thing. Lead has been banned since the 1970’s, and even a tiny amount of lead is not safe for children, as it can cause learning and attention issues.
