A recent caller on the Ramsey show said that he hasn’t even informed his kids that they won a $22 million dollar lottery 2 years ago. He said he and his wife made the decision to do this, because they don’t want their kids to be waiting for them to die. He said he also made this decision because he read that many lottery winners go bankrupt and overspend, and so he wanted to be careful. He has managed to stay anonymous about winning the lottery, and that isn’t always possible, because many states require the winner to reveal themselves. The host of the show, Dave Ramsey, praised the couple for their financial discipline.
