Dr. Anthony Fauci wins the $1 million prize

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been honored with the $1 million Dan David prize for his contributions to health and medicine. It was given by Tel Aviv university.

Dr. Fauci is the top infectious disease official in America. He has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the U.S. National Institutes of Health since 1984, and has advised 7 presidents. He became very popular after appearing in TV presidential briefings.

He researched about HIV and created treatments to cure the disease, which saved many lives. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Dr. Fauci was a trusted source of information, even though former President Donald Trump blocked him from appearing on many shows.

10% of the award goes to scholarships, and Dr. Fauci gets to decide who the scholarships go to.
