On Saturday morning, March 13, Chicago’s river was dyed green by state officials. This move is for St. Patrick’s Day. The officials denied any plans of dyeing the river earlier in the week. This move was announced early Saturday morning, with not that much notice to the public. The Chicago Plumbers Union dyed the entire river within around 20 min, and began dying it at around 7:00 AM. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, both of Chicago’s parades have been canceled. Chicago’s officials are also saying to anyone that might be celebrating St. Patrick’s day that guidelines are still in place and they will be enforced.
