Astrazeneca has recently carried out a large trial of its vaccine, and has proved that it is 79% effective in preventing Covid-19 symptoms, and has completely prevented the worst symptoms of the virus. The company has said that there were no serious side effects or safety issues as well. This clinical trial was carried out with 32,000 people.
Earlier this month, many countries mostly in Europe stopped the use of the vaccine. The reason the countries stopped the use is because a small number of people that got the vaccine got blood clots, which are dangerous. Many political leaders in Europe have gotten the vaccine to encourage the public to get it.
Even though the clinical trial did not produce any dangerous side effects, it is still possible there are some rare side effects, because some side effects cannot be found until after the vaccine is given to millions of people.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US’s top disease expert, has said that the vaccine is now a good vaccine. Astrazeneca has said that it is ready to give the US 30 million vaccines when it is approved. The US has promised to give 4 million of those to Canada and Mexico.
