SpaceX’s contract has been suspended. Recently, SpaceX got a contract with NASA to make a Crewed lunar lander. The contract was suspended because Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin and Leidos’ Dynetics protested. SpaceX was picked on April 16 by NASA, and was the only company that was picked, surprising many people because NASA was expected to pick 2 companies. SpaceX is using Starship, a rocket system that is reusable.
One reason SpaceX won is because SpaceX was asking for about $2.9 billion in its contract. That is much less than what the other two companies were asking for. Another reason SpaceX won is because Starship is able to carry lots of cargo. The most recent Starship model is SN15, which is scheduled to launch within a few days.
