Vishwaraj Vemala, a doctor, saved the life of a passenger twice on a flight from London to India. The passenger’s heart stopped, and as soon as that happened, Vemala started attempting to revive him. It took around an hour to complete this process and to make him conscious again, and the cabin crew luckily had an emergency kit to help him out. Other passengers also gave materials to Vemala to help him out, including a heart-rate monitor and a blood-pressure machine. The man got a heart attack again afterwards, and Vemala revived him again, but it took much longer the second time. The pilot requested to make an emergency landing in Pakistan, but the request was rejected. They ended up landing in Mumbai, India. According to Vemala, this was the first time he treated a cardiac arrest.
Also, I do know that Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field during the Bills-Bengals MNF game. I realize this may be a sensitive topic for some people. Prayers for Damar and his family.
