Pope Benedict XVI, a former Pope, has passed away at the age of 95, after having bad health for some time. A Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church in Rome. The Pope is also the head of Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Pope Benedict was the first Pope in nearly 600 years to resign when he resigned in 2013. His funeral will be held at St. Peter’s Square on Thursday, and he will be buried in St. Peter’s Basilica starting Monday. During his time as Pope, Benedict met with 2 US presidents and a future US president. Current US president Joe Biden called Pope Benedict a “great theologian, a very conservative theologian.”
