Senator Krysten Sinema of Arizona is leaving the Democratic Party and is now registering as an independent. An independent is someone that is not affiliated with any political party. Even though Sinema is changing from a Democrat, the Democrats will still most likely keep power in the Senate. Sinema did not say if she will act like a Democrat, which is what senators Bernie Sanders and Angus King are doing. Sinema said the reason for this change was that she didn’t feel like she fit clearly in the party’s principles.
