The Golden State, AKA California, is banning natural gas furnaces and water heaters by 2030. This move will make California the first state to make a move like this, and this ban may influence and inspire other states to do the same. California won’t completely remove the furnaces and heaters by 2030, and they will just ban the sale of new ones. The vote that approved this wasn’t the final decision, and the final vote will be in 2025. California is aiming to become carbon-free by 2045.
