The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends the Pfizer vaccine for 12 to 15 year olds. Recently, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved the vaccine in this age group. Even though it was approved, many people were waiting to see if the CDC would approve it or not. Before the FDA approved the vaccine, only people 16 years and older could get the vaccine.
Biden said that 15,000 pharmacies across the countries will be able to vaccinate this new age group. In Pfizer’s test in this age group, more than 1,000 people did not get covid. Only 16 of them got it. The test included 2,000 people. These vaccinations are crucial because now schools can start to reopen for middle and high school students.
