China showed off the fastest train in the world, capable of going over 370 miles per hour. It is a maglev bullet train, and it’s debut was in Qingdao, China. It was made and developed by China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation. The train looks like it is floating on the tracks, because of an electromagnetic force that lets it glide. “Maglev” abbreviates “Magnetic Levitation.”
China is aiming to develop many high speed rails, because it has a huge population of over 1 billion. Currently, on average, most planes fly at 800 – 900 kph, and most high speed trains go at 350kph. The main problem currently with the maglev train is the tracks. There is only one completed maglev track, and it goes from Shanghai’s Pudong Airport to the Longyang road in the city. The maglev train that goes on it can travel upto 267 mph.
