The soft drinks company Coca-Cola is testing out an environmentally friendly, recyclable paper bottle that is made by a Danish company. Plastic in our oceans is a big problem. It pollutes the seas and kills many sea animals. But the paper bottle has its own problems to solve.
The first one is to make sure the carbon inside the drinks stays inside and doesn’t leak out. Secondly, Coca-Cola needs to make sure no paper flakes from the bottle come off into the drink. Finally, the company needs to make sure the paper bottle can withstand the pressure that the drinks are bottled with. Coca-Cola will try out 2,000 paper bottles in Hungary this summer.
