Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will miss 6-8 weeks with surgery on his hand. Prescott suffered an injury on his hand in Dallas’ Week 1 loss at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said postgame, “Dak will be out for a while.” Prescott said, “Just another bump in the road”, as he suffered a compound fracture and ankle dislocation in 2020 which kept him out 11 games and a calf strain which kept him out a game. Cooper Rush will be the starter for the next 6-8 weeks for Dallas, which isn’t a good thing since he looked unimpressive in Week 1.
When a quarterback follows through on a throw, he could hit a helmet or a defensive lineman’s hand. It’s a hazard, and it’s really dangerous to do it two consecutive times. Prescott did just that, however, which was probably the main reason for the injury.
Many analysts and fans are writing off the Cowboys, but can they prove them wrong? We’ll see.
