Former US president Donald Trump has made his decision on whether to run or not in 2024. He was ready to announce the decision, but his allies such as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Republican) opposed the idea, saying that it would force Trump to take responsibility for the midterm elections in November. According to a Republican strategist, announcing the decision earlier would be helpful to Trump, but be harmful for the party. There is currently a house committee going on which is investigating the Jan 6, 2021 Capitol Riot.
