Emirates Airline from Dubai posted a $1.1 billion loss, which is up from a loss of $5.5 billion a year before. Jet fuel costs are soaring right now, and they are threatening to stop recovery in travel demand. They will try to get back to profitability next year. Emirates said its fuel costs doubled to $3.8 billion. Fuel apparently counted for 23% of costs that year, and it was just 14% the year before.
