The Golden State Warriors have won their 4th NBA championship in 8 years, beating the Boston Celtics 4 games to 2. Stephen Curry won his 1st career NBA Finals MVP and finally got the thing that eluded him his entire career. Referring to all the criticism he’s faced during his career, Curry said, “You go to these last two years, and conversations, narratives, we’re ‘too old’, the parallel timelines of developing young guys and keeping our core together, all those tough decisions that we had to make, that weighs on you for as much time as we’re going through it. Then you get to the finish line, and that’s why I think this one is definitely different because of the three years of baggage we carried coming out of that game 6 in 2019.”
Personally, I don’t like the Warriors very much, but I despise the Celtics more than I dislike the Warriors, so this makes me happy. It also makes me happy to see Stephen Curry finally get his Finals MVP. Honestly, good for them.
Draymond Green came out to boos from the Boston crowd in Game 3, and responded in Game 6 back in Boston with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists and his fourth ring. “If you know basketball, and you watched Game 1, I didn’t have a bad Game 1,” said Green. “And I had an incredible Game 2. And Game 3 was kind of like, terrible, awful. And Game 4 was not my best effort but not totally special. And Game 5, Game 5 I was pretty solid. Came out with great energy. Game 6, I dominated.”
Regardless of who you root for, that was an incredible Finals. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
