World leaders invited to a virtual meet for the climate crisis

Joe Biden, president of the US, has invited 40 world leaders to an online virtual meet about the climate crisis. For example, China’s leader, Xi Jinping, and Russia’s leader, Vladimir Putin, have been invited. Biden has invited Jinping and Putin, but hasn’t talked to them yet about the invite. This meet is supposed to show that the US will still fight against climate change, after Trump stopped fighting against it. The meet is 2 days long, and will start on Earth day, which is April 22. Trump left the Paris agreement when he was in office, and now Biden will rejoin the agreement.

The meet is completely online because of Covid-19. Biden has invited the head people of the “Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate”, leaders of the 17 countries that produce about 80% of the world’s pollution and GDP. He is also inviting the leaders of countries that are especially working against climate change and the people who are most affected by it.
