The streaming giant Netflix just raised its prices. Netflix is very popular and has tons of shows and movies you can watch on it. It is changing its prices in the US and Canada. Netflix has 3 plans: Basic, Standard, and Premium. The Basic plan is being increased by $1 to $9.99 in the US, and in Canada, the price is unchanged. The Standard plan is being increased by $1.50 to $15.49 in the US, and it is being increased by $1.50 to $16.49 Canadian dollars. And finally, the Premium plan is being increased by $2 to $19.99 in the US, and it is being increased by $2 as well in Canada to make it $20.99 Canadian dollars. After this announcement, the company’s stock price went up 2%. The last time Netflix increased its prices was in October of 2020. Netflix is “forced” to do this, since it is big and it won’t be getting nearly as many new subscribers. Netflix has about 213 million subscribers right now.
