Last year in 2021, the streaming service Peacock, lost over $1 billion. Peacock is a service like Netflix, and it has over 16 million subscribers who have full access, and another 8.5 million people use Peacock’s free service, in which they cannot access every show and they get more ads. 9 million of the 16 million full-access people pay monthly to Peacock, and the other 7 million get it with a comcast bundle or cable. Comcast is the company that owns Peacock. For comparison, Peacock’s 24.5 million users is nothing compared to Netflix’s subscribers; Netflix has over 220 million subscribers. Comcast is planning to invest $3 billion in Peacock content this year.
