Tom Brady left training camp for a day to see his friend Peyton Manning’s induction into the Football Hall Of Fame. This is unusual but not necessarily a bad thing because Brady is showing respect for his friend. Also, he will be playing in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first preseason game.
The funny thing is that Manning poked fun at Brady during his speech. “Next year, acceptance speeches will probably shrink to four minutes,” said Manning. “And speaking of rivals, my good friend Tom Brady is here, and by the time he is inducted…..” He stopped his speech to let the crowd boo him. “By the time Tom Brady is inducted in his first year of eligibility in the year 2035, he’ll only have time to post his acceptance speech on his Instagram account.” Manning’s brother, Eli (also a former NFL quarterback) was at the speech as well. Brady joked at Manning before his speech, saying that “I just need to make sure he’s really done. Can’t risk this guy coming back….”. It’s highly unlikely that Manning will come out of retirement, since he’s 45. But Brady is clearly not taking any chances.
