Procter & Gamble will increase prices of some of its products in September, because of rising commodity costs. Kimberly-Clark, a rival company, and Coca-Cola have also decided to raise prices. The companies are doing this because the higher commodity costs are making their profits smaller. Procter & Gamble are going to increase the prices based on the product and brand. Kimberly Clark owns the toilet paper brand Scott, and P&G owns Charmin. Kimberly Clark has increased Scott’s price, but P&G has not increased Charmin’s price yet.
