Tennis legend Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open on January 30, making him the man with the most Grand Slam titles ever. In the final, he was down 2 sets to none against his opponent, Daniil Medvedev, but rallied, winning 2-6, 6-7, 6-4,6-4,7-5. He was previously tied with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer for Grand Slam titles, with 20 each. Nadal has 13 French Open wins, four US Open wins, two Wimbledon wins, and now two Australian Open wins. During the trophy presentation, Nadal said, “This was one of the most emotional matches of my career…being honest, I didn’t know if I’d be able to be back on the tour playing tennis again (a few months ago). You don’t know how thankful I am to be here.” Personally, I like Nadal and I’m happy for him. This is a great accomplishment, especially since he had to dig himself out of a big hole to achieve this win. I personally think this might cement his legacy as the greatest men’s tennis player of all time. He is definitely up there.
