Seattle Seahawks Trade Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos

The Seattle Seahawks have traded star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos in one of the biggest trades ever. The Seahawks got quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round draft picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth round pick. The Broncos got Wilson and a fourth-rounder. Wilson led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl 48 victory over the Broncos in 2013, and is now the first quarterback ever to start for a team he beat in the Super Bowl. Apparently, the Broncos were the team he chose.

Since legendary quarterback Peyton Manning retired in 2016, the Broncos have had 11 starting quarterbacks, tied for the most in the NFL in that time period. Personally, I don’t think this is a good move for Seattle, because if Lock does wind up becoming the starter, the Seahawks are in serious trouble. From Denver’s point of view, it’s a great move because he can take this team to the promised land. The Broncos offense is looking scary with a receiving core that consists of Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, and KJ Hamler, tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, and running back Javonte Williams. The Broncos odds of winning Super Bowl LVII went up from 25-1 to 12-1 at Caesars Sportsbook. That puts them in fourth behind the Buffalo Bills (15-2), Kansas City Chiefs (8-1), and Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, the Seahawks odds fell from 40-1 to 75-1. This is an interesting move.
