Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Tom Brady Returns to NFL

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced he will be coming out of retirement and returning to the NFL. 40 days ago, Brady announced his retirement after 22 legendary seasons. A few days before, ESPN’s Adam Schefter prematurely announced Brady’s retirement, but then Brady’s dad said it wasn’t true. Brady said on Twitter, “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make this all possible. I’m coming back to Tampa for my 23rd year.”

Personally, I am not too surprised with this news, because I had a feeling he had more in the tank. I don’t know if this will be his last season or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.

On the same day Brady announced his return, he posted a video on Instagram in which soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo asked, “You’re finished, right?” Brady’s answer was unclear, but his facial expression suggested he was probably returning. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he thought Brady was done because of family. Brady’s kids are growing older and Gisele Bundchen, his wife, said that she has struggled with seeing him take so many hits. The day before, a collector shelled out $518,000 for the ball that Brady used to throw his then-last career touchdown pass to Mike Evans.
