The deepest earthquake is estimated to have taken place in the lower mantle of the earth. Other earthquakes are thought to have happened at this level, but scientists were unable to get their location. Scientists say there still needs to be more research to prove the earthquake actually happened, and that it actually struck in the lower mantle.
