The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is investigating a hepatitis A outbreak from organic strawberries. The FDA, along with other organizations, said the strawberries were labeled as FreshKampo and HEB and were sold between March 5 and April 25. They were sold nationwide, at retailers such as Aldi, Kroger, Walmart, and Trade Joe’s. The strawberries are past their shelf life, but people that froze them for later use shouldn’t eat them. There have been 17 hepatitis cases in California, Minnesota, and North Dakota, and it has caused 12 hospitalizations. The symptoms of hepatitis a usually appear 2 to 7 weeks after the infection, and usually last less than 2 months.
