Norway will build a ship tunnel under the Norwegian mountains, to make it easier for ships to cross the sea. This tunnel will be built on the Stadhavet Sea, which is sometimes dangerous for ships because of rough tides and bad weather. The tunnel will be 118 feet wide, a mile long, and will be in northwestern Norway. The tunnel will be around $330 million to make, will take 3-4 years for construction, and will start in 2022.
There are also many hurricanes in the area, and because of bad weather some ships have to wait for days to start going again. Also, the weather and tides should not be a problem in the tunnel. There are already tunnels for small boats and ships to pass, but there are not any for large ships. The tunnel will go through the narrowest point of the mountains, making the tunnel construction much easier.
