The Hubble Space Telescope finds 6 dead galaxies

The famous Hubble Space Telescope has found 6 “dead” galaxies, and scientists don’t know why. The Hubble Space Telescope is an incredibly powerful telescope that can spot things very far away. It was sent to space in 1990, and has recently celebrated its 31st anniversary. The telescope is named after Edwin Hubble, a astronomer born in 1889, because he discovered the fact that the universe is continuously expanding, and that is now called the Hubble constant. These 6 galaxies ran out of cold hydrogen gas, which is needed to make stars, when the universe was approximately 3 billion years old. Some theories scientists have include: a supermassive black hole in the galaxy could have heated up all the gas, the galaxy could have used up all of its fuel, or it could have been expelled somehow. This is a big mystery, and it may be solved soon.
