The US has left its last Afghanistan base. The base, named Bagram, is Afghanistan’s largest air base, and because of this event, the US has finally left the war which it was involved in for 2 decades. Over two months ago, the US announced that it will remove its troops from Afghanistan. Now, the country will use the base for its own fight against terrorism within the country. The US will only leave 650 troops stationed in the country. The US estimates that the Afghan government could fall to the main terrorist group in the country, the Taliban, within 6 months after the US fully leaves the country. The Taliban are taking over much of Afghanistan, and many of the government’s soldiers and troops are surrendering.
