The two companies Rivian and Mercedes-Benz have announced a major partnership. They will manufacture big electric vans for both companies. The two automakers signed a “memorandum of understanding” for a partnership. This deal could still be stopped, as it is subject to a final bidding agreement by Mercedes-Benz and Rivian, and it also still needs regulatory clearance. The companies are hoping to use one of Mercedes-Benz’s factories in Central or Eastern Europe for a specified EV factory.

Rivian is a startup EV company, and they hope to compete with the giant EV automaker Tesla, which is one of the biggest companies in the world.
