On Tuesday 7:42 P.M. (UAE time), The Hope probe from The United Arab Emirates successfully reached Mars. This makes UAE the first Arab country to reach Mars. Many experts only expected a 50% chance of the probe reaching successfully, because more than half of missions to Mars fail.
The most important time was when the probe slowed down from 100,000 kph to 18,000 kph. This is accomplished by the probe using 6 thrusters for exactly 27 min. UAE is now the second country to make it to Mars in its first attempt (India was first). Many famous people and governments congratulated UAE on its success. The Hope probe is one of three missions trying to get to Mars this year (NASA’s Perseverance and China’s Tianwen-1 are the other two missions).
