US will send vaccines to other countries

On Monday, April 26, the US said that it will give all of its Astrazeneca vaccines to other countries. The US will share around 60 million doses, if they are approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for product quality. Before, Biden was hesitant to send vaccines, because he wanted to vaccinate Americans first. Biden is sending the vaccines now because the US already has Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Also, the Astrazeneca vaccine is not approved in the US.

There has been lots of pressure on the US to share its vaccines to countries like India, with tons of news cases. The US has already given 4.2 million Astrazeneca vaccines to Canada and Mexico. So far, there have been 1.02 billion vaccine doses given out in the world, which is enough to fully vaccinate only 6.7% of all the people.

Did you know this?

The US has fully vaccinated 36% of all of its people, and India only fully vaccinated 5.3% of its people.
